I Finally Cloned Myself
Well. This is new.
I finally have an AI clone.
And yes, typing that sentence still feels a little bit like something out of The Matrix.
I've been watching AI clones become a real thing for a while now. Creators are building digital doubles that can appear in photos, videos and content without the creator physically being there.
I was fascinated.
I was also hesitant.
Because there is something slightly surreal about seeing a digital version of yourself exist outside of you.
But then I started thinking like a businesswoman.
What could this actually do for me?
So, what exactly is an AI clone?
Very simply, an AI clone is a digital version of you created using artificial intelligence. Depending on the platform, it can replicate elements of your appearance, expressions, voice or likeness.
And a prompt is simply the instruction you give the AI to tell it what you want it to create.
Which is where things get fun.
I can change the outfit.
Change the hair.
Change the setting.
Change the mood.
Create an editorial image without booking a photographer, hair and makeup artist, location and studio.
And suddenly I'm thinking:
Okay. I see the appeal.
The ROI started making sense.
I've done professional photoshoots before.
I've loved the results. I've also had plenty of images where I thought, Okay... but where exactly am I going to use this?
That's an expensive problem.
With AI, I can experiment much more quickly.
Create the concept. Change the prompt. Try again. Keep the images that actually look and feel like me.
For quick visual content and creative shoots, that's a pretty compelling return on investment.
But I'm not handing over the keys to the kingdom.
I'm still thinking carefully about privacy, intellectual property, likeness and where personal data lives.
Those questions matter.
For me, right now, the potential payoff is worth experimenting with carefully.
But the human still matters.
I don't think an AI clone replaces the woman behind the brand.
And I don't want it to.
You'll still see the real me.
You'll hear my real voice.
You'll watch me learn, experiment, mess things up and figure things out in public.
My AI clone can help me create.
She cannot be me.
And honestly?
She's still a little rough around the edges.
Sometimes the image is uncanny. Sometimes something looks very AI. Sometimes I look at her and think, Girl... who is that?
But I'm not waiting for the technology to become perfect before I learn how to use it.
I'm learning now.
Because that's really what this season of POSHWORTHY is about.
Trying the thing.
Learning the thing.
Calculating the risk.
Making the move.
And documenting what happens next.
I don't know exactly where AI cloning will take my business.
Maybe I'll use it more.
Maybe I'll use it less.
Maybe six months from now I'll look back at this article and laugh at how primitive this technology was.
That's the beauty of building in public.
You don't have to know the ending to document the beginning.
So yes, I finally cloned myself.
And now that she's here?
I'm going to have a little fun with her.
XOXO,
Emsy 💕
